| Welcome |

The Weary Boots started off as a veterans' network originating in the backrooms of the Weary Boots tavern, the one-time headquarters of the Ironforge Guild of Explorers, more commonly known as the Explorers' League.
For a long time, the Boots were merely an informal body of friends, occasionally meeting in some damp hellhole of a dig site to compare notes and have a wee drink or ten. But as the League grew and began to shift its directives, the Boots grew into something more.
Essentially, they now function as a side branch of the Explorers' League, made up of the more stubborn and recalcitrant elements within the guild's membership. Taking offence at the perceived waste of resources commited by dedicating prospectors to the search for precious metals to fund the Alliances' war effort (instead of pursuing knowledge and studying their history), the Boots have begun to keep more and more of their discoveries for themselves, ignoring guild assignments that do not suit their needs and generally being a pain in the backside for the League's ruling council. It was only the general success of their digs - and the fact that the old blighters are still terribly well-connected - that has kept them from being dragged before a disciplinary tribunal.
All this changed when the Boots got involved in a dig site at the Iceflow Late, an ill-fated endeavour that - while initially successful in procuring a stone shard from titanic times - eventually brought the explorers toe to toe with the Dark Iron clan an its sinister machinations.
Following various confusing events, the King as chief authority over the League withdrew funding for the Boots, effectively forcing them to return to the fold of the guild's authority or leave the association altogether. With Narath missing and the Iceflow Shard fallen into unknown hands, the Boots now face the additional challenge of having to coordinate their efforts without official League backing.
For this, they need all the help they can get! Think you're up to the task? Let us know and we'll have a beer or ten to talk about it... |
